Norwegian
Norwegian, a North Germanic language, has two official written forms: Bokmål and Nynorsk. It is spoken primarily in Norway and is closely related to Danish and Swedish. Norwegian literature includes contributions from playwright Henrik Ibsen and novelist Knut Hamsun. The language is known for its variety of dialects and its mutual intelligibility with other Scandinavian languages.
